Communication Equipment Exercise – River Shannon, 23rd May 2023

Dublin Water Outage

During a major water outage on Thursday evening 25th May Dublin Civil Defence activated five fire appliances and crews to deliver approximately 180,000 litres of water to keep two medical facilities functioning.


Passing of former Civil Defence Officer

Laois Civil Defence – Bank Holiday Weekend Activities

A busy bank holiday weekend is coming to a close for Laois Civil Defence volunteers. Friday, Saturday and Sunday crews covered the Coillte Biking Blitz on the Slieve Bloom Mountains alongside volunteers from Offaly Civil Defence. Sunday the Boat Crews provided safety cover the Dragon Regatta on the River Barrow with  Kildare Civil Defence.

Former Sligo Civil Defence Officer, Seán Kavanagh passed away on 28th April.  Following requiem mass on Monday morning 1st May the funeral proceeded to St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Scarden for burial.
