Leitrim Civil Defence – Joint Exercise – May 2012

Leitrim Civil Defence Volunteers and Carrick on Shannon Order of Malta Volunteers recently completed a joint training exercise in Carrick on Shannon. The exercise scenario involved a collision between a Passenger Carrying Vessel and a Cruiser with casualties recovered by Civil Defence Boat Crews. Casualties were then transported to shore and treated by mixed teams from both Units. Instructors then carried out a comprehensive de-brief where treatment procedures for a variety of injuries were demonstrated. Volunteers from both Units thoroughly enjoyed the exercise and are looking forward to future joint activities.
