Wexford Civil Defence Search Activity – November 2012

Wexford Civil Defence carried out a further extensive search of Wexford Harbour for a missing person on Sunday 18th November 2012 with the support of other boats crews from the region. Carlow, Kilkenny, South Tipperary and Waterford City sent both boats and boat crews to help in the search.

The harbour was broken down into four distinct search areas, with two boats tasked to each area for search and support function. Land crews carried out a further search of the shore line from Raven Point to Ardcavan pumphouse and Drinagh to Wexford. The search was completed at 2.30pm as weather conditions started to deteriorate in the outer harbour area.

Eight Boats, 49 Volunteers, 10 4x4s, three minibuses, Communications Vehicle and support of the Welfare Units for soup and sandwiches were tasked during the search.
