Sligo Civil Defence was activated by Gardaí to assist with a search for a missing woman in Sligo Town. 17 Civil Defence members assisted in an extensive shoreline search from Strandhill to Rosses Point on Sunday 22^nd Octobe. The search concluded on Monday 23^rd October following the recovery of the body which was located on the shores of Coney Island.

Superintendant Mary Murray issued a letter to Civil Defence thanking all for their assistance.
