Olympic Homecoming of the O’Donovan Brothers – 29th August 2016

The official homecoming event for Gary and Paul O’Donovan, silver medallists at the Rio Olympics, was held in Skibbereen on Monday 29th August.

An estimated 10,000 people attended the event, which was coordinated by Skibbereen Rowing Club, Chamber of Commerce, Cork County Council, An Garda Siochana and Cork West Civil Defence, which provided communications and medical support, including ambulance crew, first aid stations and responder teams.
