Slieve Bloom Rescue – 7th April 2026

Volunteers from Laois and Offaly Civil Defence Units responded to calls from An Garda Síochána for four missing walkers on the Slieve Blooms. The missing persons were located safe and well by Civil Defence teams and brought back out to safety.

Coome Hospital – Water Shortage

On Wednesday 28 January Dublin Civil Defence was activated to assist with a water supply issue at the Coome Hospital. The AFS Crew from the Nutgrove Unit responded, filling a 75,000 litre water tank.
