Long Service Medals

Almost 300 Civil Defence members will be presented with new Long Service Medals at a ceremony in Dublin Castle on Friday 21st November. These new medals mark 30, 40 and even 50 years voluntary service to the community by volunteers from all over Ireland.

Over 500 people are expected to attend the presentation ceremony. Eligible volunteers who could not attend the event in Dublin Castle will be presented with their medals at local ceremonies in the coming months. Both serving and retired members of Civil Defence with the appropriate service are eligible for these medals.
