Leitrim – Assistance to Cruiser

At 8.30pm on 21st May Leitrim Civil Defence was deployed to provide assistance to a Cruiser reported aground approximately 3km, south of Carrick-on- Shannon.

The operation was coordinated by Malin Head Coastguard. The Leitrim Boat Crew responded and arrived on scene at 9.20pm. A 37ft Cruiser with two persons on board was located aground approximately 2.5km south of Carrick on Shannon. The Boat Crew succeeded in refloating the Cruiser. The Cruiser suffered only minor damage and the persons on board were not injured.
