Kilkenny Search – River Nore

On Monday 10th February Kilkenny Civil Defence was tasked by Kilkenny/Carlow Gardaí to assist in a missing person search of the River Nore, along with Rescue 117, Kilkenny Fire & Rescue, Kilkenny Sub Aqua Club and the Ambulance Service. Throughout the week additional assistance was provided by the specialist Tipperary Civil Defence Drone Team, the Dublin Civil Defence K-9 Unit and a Sonar specialist from  Mayo Civil Defence.

A decision has been made by Kilkenny Civil Defence to stand down the search in light of weather warnings from Met Eireann and to resume as soon as it is deemed safe.
