Kerry Civil Defence – SAR Activities – January 2012

Kerry Civil Defence SAR Unit assisted Cork West Civil Defence in the search and recovery operation at Union Hall, West Cork on Monday 23rdJanuary and Tuesday 24th January. The SAR Unit was redeployed on Saturday 28th January and stayed overnight in West Cork to resume search operations on Sunday 29thJanuary.

Kerry Civil Defence Boat Unit responded to a call out to assist in a search operation for a local man who went fishing on a lake in the Cromane area on Saturday 28th January. The body was recovered on the Tuesday 31stJanuary by two local fishermen.

Kerry Civil Defence was requested to support Water Services in providing a boat and crew to lay booms across the river to prevent pollution from seeping into the main water pumps on Wednesday 1stFebruary.
