Galway Search Operation, Oranmore

On Thursday morning 30th March, Galway Civil Defence was activated by An Garda Síochána seeking assistance with a missing person search in Rinville, Oranmore, Co. Galway.

Civil Defence Officer, Brendan Qualter and two Galway Civil Defence Drone Units responded to the request and conducted a search of the area of interest. The Irish Coastguard, RNLI and Oranmore Maree Search Unit assisted on the search.

Galway Civil Defence drone and sonar crews were deployed to search the sea area at Rinville, Oranmore on Thursday, Friday and Saturday morning. Clare Civil Defence assisted on Saturday morning. The search concluded at approx. 10.30 am on Saturday 1^st April when the male was recovered from the water.
