Galway Missing Person Search

Galway Civil Defence was notified by Galway Fire & Rescue Service of a person entering the water from Wolfe Tone Bridge at approximately 2pm on Sunday 20th December 2020.

A number of agencies were deployed to assist, namely, Galway Fire and Rescue Service, An Garda Síochána, RNLI, ICG Helicopter R115, Costello Bay Coastguard Unit and the Galway Civil Defence Drone Team were deployed.

Since 20th December Civil Defence Drone Crews, Boat Crews and Ground Search Teams have been tasked by An Garda Síochána and the Irish Coastguard to assist in the search of the Galway Bay area to right through to the early days of January.

The search is ongoing.
