Achill Island Water Provision

Mayo Civil Defence was activated on 12th August to assist in the delivery of drinking water to households on Achill Island following a ‘do not consume’ notice which issued on 11th August. A total of 350 vulnerable persons were provided with drinking water during the operation which was coordinated from Civil Defence Headquarters in Castlebar using TETRA technology.
