75th Anniversary Event, Maynooth

On Saturday 27th September the Minister of State at the Department of the Taoiseach, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and at the Department of Defence, Thomas Byrne TD, presented commemorative medals to 270 Volunteers from eleven counties at the second regional event in Maynooth University.

Minister Byrne stated “Today, we are not only commemorating an anniversary – we are celebrating a legacy of service, the thousands of lives touched, and the countless acts of selflessness carried out by volunteers over three-quarters of a century”.
