Slieve Bloom Mountains – Assistance to injured Walker

On Friday evening 26th June, Laois Civil Defence Paramedics, EMTs and Responders were tasked to assist the Ambulance Service with the treatment and extrication of an injured walker in the Slieve Bloom Mountains. The call for assistance was made at 6.20pm and 11 members responded and were at the scene at 7.10 pm.
Search Operation – Newport, Co Tipperary

Tipperary Civil Defence was mobilised on Sunday 28th June to assist Newport Gardaí in the search for a missing person. Units from Nenagh, Thurles, Clonmel and Ballingarry were mobilised with 27 volunteers responding. Dublin Civil Defence: 90th Birthday Drive-By

Dublin Civil Defence held a drive-by to help celebrate the 90th Birthday of Tommy Dempsey. Tommy was one of the original members of Civil Defence and was in Sub County 3 Rescue. Tommy joined in 1963 and was part of the Guard of Honour in Dublin Castle when President John F Kennedy visited Ireland.
