Galway Civil Defence was activated at 4.30 am on Saturday morning 1st February, tasked with traffic management throughout Galway City ensuring people and vehicles were kept clear of rising flood waters. 30 Volunteer members were on duty for six hours with a fleet of six 4WD Vehicles.
