Civic Reception in Honour of Laois Civil Defence – May 2012

A large assembly of Councillors, two elected TDs and a number of other dignitaries were in attendance at Laois County Council Chambers at County Hall, Portaloise on Friday night, 10th May to witness Laois County Council bestow the highest honour it could to Laois Civil Defence.
Speakers on the night included, Cathaoirleach of Laois County Council, Councillor John Bonham, Mayor of Portlaoise Town Council, Matthew Keegan, Cathaoirleach of Mountmellick Town Council, Stephen Lynch, County Manager, Laois County Council, Peter Carey, Director General of Civil Defence Board, Bill Smith and Civil Defence Officer, Liam Preston.
Each Laois Civil Defence Volunteer member was presented with a framed citation.
