Call Out for Emergency Shelter

Dublin Civil Defence was activated by Dublin City Council at 4am on Wednesday morning 23rd January to assist in the evacuation of 70 elderly persons following a fire at a Nursing Home in Glin Court, Friarswood.

Civil Defence set up a rest centre in a local Community Centre, and supplied beds, sleeping bags and pillows. The displaced patients are in the process of being assigned hotel accommodation.
