Wicklow – Boat Rescue
6 July 2016
On Tuesday evening, 5th July while launching the Rib for a training exercise off Greystones
the Wicklow Civil Defence Boat Crew was approached by a member of the public who reported that a small sailing boat was in difficulties off Greystones Harbour. The sailing boat had been drifting for over an hour. The Civil Defence crew located the sailing boat and after assessing the situation towed the boat with it’s crew of two to Greystones Marina.
The quick response of the Wicklow Civil Defence members avoided a more serious situation developing and thankfully resulted in no casualties.
