Sligo – Darkness Into Light 2015
19 May 2015
Approximately 2,000 people turned out to take part in the Pieta House Darkness into Light dawn walk in Sligo held on Saturday 9th May raising much needed funds to raise awareness and spread the message of suicide prevention, reminding people that even after the darkest night, daylight will come.
This was the third year for the walk in Sligo which has grown in participation from 200 the first year to almost 2,000 this year. 20 Civil Defence volunteers provided Ambulance and First Aid assistance around the route. The event has added significance for the Volunteers in Sligo as the Unit lost one of its serving members to suicide in 2013.
