Update Missing Persons Search – North Mayo

The body of missing fisherman Daniel Doherty RIP was discovered by local fishermen just east of Downpatrick Head on the evening of 25th September 2015.

Civil Defence members have been involved in a search operation for a missing fisherman off the North Mayo Coast. The search is based at Carrowteige Village, Co Mayo

Civil Defence provided the following:

  • Coastal / Land Search Teams from Mayo & Sligo Units
  • Unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) from Civil Defence HQ
  • Sea Search – Boats from Mayo & Leitrim Units
  • Command & Control – Mayo Unit

We are working alongside An Garda Síochána, IRCG, RNLI, The Irish Navy, OMAC, Diving associations/clubs, fishing vessels & civilians.

The search operation continues.
