Missing Persons Rescue – Slieve Bloom Mountains

On the weekend of 18-19 October Civil Defence was activated to assist An Garda Síochána with locating two lost hikers on the Slieve Bloom Mountains.

16 volunteers from Laois and Offaly Civil Defence units responded to the call and located the missing walkers utilising the Civil Defence phone tracking system and thermal drones.
