Meath Search Operation, Navan

Meath Civil Defence received a call at 5.40 am on Sunday morning, 22nd November from Meath Fire Service of a person reported entering the River Boyne in Navan. The Fire Service and Coastguard Helicopter were on the scene.

Meath Civil Defence mobilised immediately and in a very short time had a boat and crew on the river, supported by the Search Dog Bowie, his handler and volunteer members who searched the river bank. The Dublin search dog Max and his handler assisted in the search a short time later.

Day 3 of the River Boyne search is ongoing. The search area is being extended towards Stackallen with boats on the water and volunteers and members of the public walking the river banks.
