Leitrim Search & Recovery Operation

On Friday 31st March Leitrim Civil Defence was activated by Gardaí  to assist in the search for two persons reported missing in the Marina area in Carrick on Shannon. The Boat Crew arrived on the scene at 12.50 pm, within 50 minutes of the call-out.  A body was located shortly after and removed from the water by Gardaí and the Boat Unit.

The Boat Unit then commenced a Sonar search for the second missing person. The second body was located using Sonar and removed from the water by Divers. The operation concluded at 4pm.
