Kilkenny Civil Defence – Boat Recovery

The Kilkenny Civil Defence Boat Crew was activated by the Local Authority to assist a Passenger/Tourist Boat which was stuck on the Weir in Kilkenny City on Thursday afternoon, 9th April. 11 passengers and 1 coxswain were recovered from the vessel and the vessel was towed to safety.

The Boat Crew was later activated by the Local Authority to transport an Engineer to inspect a damaged bridge on the River Nore.
