Kerry – Flood Relief Activity

Sunday 7th February
Civil Defence called out at 3:15pm on Sunday 7th February for sandbagging at 5 houses in Gurrane East Killorglin who were at risk of potential flooding. The AFS Unit was contacted and a crew was activated to report to Civil Defence HQ for a briefing.
Duties – 200 Sandbags deployed for residents.
Vehicles – Canter truck manned by 4 members of the Unit
The unit was stood down at 6pm.
Monday 8th February
Civil Defence was deployed at 9.30 am on Monday morning 8th February. The Unit
Duties – 200 sandbags deployed to houses in Knockmoyle Estate, Tralee and a further 200 sandbags deployed to homes in Killorglin and Ballyduff.
