Fire at Kilkenny Civil Defence HQ
3 December 2015
Kilkenny Civil Defence HQ was badly damaged in a fire on Tuesday morning, 1st December. Boats, vehicles and a wide range of equipment were all destroyed in the blaze. A number of neighbouring properties were also damaged in the fire. Thankfully nobody was injured. The matter is now being dealt with by our insurers. Kilkenny Civil Defence has been inundated with offers of loans of vehicles and equipment from other Civil Defence Units.
Civil Defence Officer Ray Regan and his team of volunteers are working very hard to ensure that Kilkenny Civil Defence quickly recovers from this fire.
