Dublin Civil Defence – Charity Rowing Event, Malahide Estuary, July 2012

Dublin Civil Defence provided Rescue Boat cover for a charity row in aid of Barrettstown Castle on Sunday 29th July 2012.
14 crews rowed from Malahide Estuary around Irelands Eye in the ‘Round The Eye Race’. Crews had to contend with a heavy swell and ‘monsoon’ rain but all made it back safely to Mlahide.
Two Civil Defence Ribs from Malahide, joined by the Wicklow Civil Defence Rib worked successfully alongside the Howth Coast Guard crew to provide safety cover during the course of the event.
