Meath Civil Defence – Moylagh 50 Mile Walk
13 June 2016
Last weekend was an extremely busy day for Meath Civil Defence volunteers from Oldcastle, Kells, Navan, Dunshaughlin and Trim units at the Moylagh 50 mile walk in aid of cancer charities. Some 570 people took part in the walk starting at 6am with the last walkers completing the 50 miles at 2am this morning. Almost 200 walkers completed the full 50 miles. A couple of people ran the route with the first runner completing the course in 7 hours 20 minutes. Our teams covered the event in 3 shifts with a number doing a double shift both on the route and in the first aid post at the finish. Lots of experience was gained throughout the day.
