North Tipperary Civil Defence on Standby for Possible Evacuation of Nursing Home
On the 12th March the North Tipperary Civil Defence Officer was contacted by Chief Ambulance Officer HSE Mid West region who requested help in the possible evacuation of a Nursing home following a fire in the kitchen area which left the building without electricity. Members were put on standby at 12.05hrs in North Tipperary, Offaly & Limerick County as was Order of Malta in Thurles. A total of six ambulances, three minibuses, and three 4x4’s were made available. The operation was stood down at 16.40hrs after the nursing home was operational following repair work.
