Roscommon Civil Defence - Major Incident Exercise 18/04/2009
A Major Incident Exercise took place at Roscommon Racecourse on Saturday 18th April.
The simulated incident involved a bomb alert in the stand of the Racecourse. The Exercise offered Instructors and supervisory personnel experience in the management and implementation of a major incident plan and offered members in all disciplines with practical experience of a major incident.
Civil Defence were assisted by the Gardaí and Dr. Michael Relihan, Consultant Surgeon from Roscommon County Hospital observed the Exercise and prepared a complimentary report for the attention of the Roscommon County Manager in which he praised Roscommon Civil Defence for their efficiency and complimented them on the condition of the equipment and vehicles utilised during the Exercise.
