Cavan Civil Defence - Opening of new Unit at Rathcorrick - 24/04/2009
The new Civil Defence unit at Rathcorrick, Co Cavan was officially opened by Minister for Agriculture, Mr Brendan Smith TD on Friday evening 24th April 2009.
During the ceremony Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Certificates in the Casualty service, Driver Certificates and a Welfare Instructor Certificate were presented to members of Cavan Civil Defence. The ceremony was attended by Mr Joe Meagher, Chairman of the Civil Defence Board, Mr Bill Smith, Director General of Civil Defence, Mr Charlie Boylan, Cathaoirleach Cavan County Council, Mr Jack Keyes, Cavan County Manager, Mr Eoin Doyle, Director of Services Cavan County Council and approximately 80 volunteers.
The building was blessed by Fr Seán McDermott, Civil Defence Chaplain.
