Casualty Service |
The casualty service is often the most recognised service within the Civil Defence organisation. This is because members play a very active role in providing casualty and ambulance services at community events such as sports events, concerts, festivals and parades among many more. Participation at such events can provide the volunteer with the opportunity to practise these skills in real situations.
The skills acquired include the diagnosing of injuries, treatment and evacuation/transportation of patients. Training in the use of defibrillators is now coming on stream.
Civil Defence can offer training to members at life saving, intermediate, advanced and instructor level with certification issued at each level of successful completion.
